Geist Reservoir

Geist Reservoir is a man-made reservoir located in Hamilton County and Marion County in Indiana, United States. It was constructed in 1943 as a joint project between the Citizens Gas and Coke Utility and the Indianapolis Water Company. The lake covers about 1,900 acres and has a shoreline of 52 miles. The reservoir is a popular recreational spot for boating, fishing, and swimming. The water is also used for drinking water supply for parts of the metropolitan area, including Indianapolis. Several parks and marinas are located around Geist Reservoir, including Geist Park, Geist Marina, and Morse Park and Beach.
